Dr George Barakos is currently a Lecturer in mining engineering in WASM.
Prior to this role, he had been research associate at Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany from 2017 to 2022.
He obtained his Diploma in Mineral Resouces Engineering and M.Sc. in Geoenvironmental Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece, and his Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, in 2005, 2007, and 2017, respectively.
Dr Barakos also has significant experience not only in the academia but also in the mining industry, having worked as a consulting engineer in mining operations in Greece for several years.
